Seminar on Water Resources Security in the Context of SDGs – 25 May 2016, PutraJaya.

The Seminar on Water Resources Security in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals will be held on the 25 May 2016 at Perdana Ballroom, Palm Garden Hotel, IOI Resort, Putrajaya.

According to United Nations (2016) water is a finite and irreplaceable resource that is fundamental to human well-being. It is only renewable if well managed. Today, more than 1.7 billion people live in river basins where depletion through use exceeds natural recharge, a trend that will see two-thirds of the world’s population living in water-stressed countries by 2025. Jointly organised by NRE, MyWP and JPS Malaysia, this seminar’s main objective is provide a platform for policy makers, academicians and other interested parties to discuss and share their knowledge towards realizing the SDGs in the Malaysian Water Sector in Malaysia Economic Planning Unit.
